This is designed for a child up to age 10 to 12 and provides everything to help the child survive in an emergency evacuation for 72 hours (3 days) packed in an extremely sturdy and distinctive backpack PLUS a very compact and lightweight sleeping bag for extra warmth!. Note that there are no dangerous items included in this kit, including sharp objects, matches, candles, etc.
There are more than 50 items in the following categories:
o Clothing – some generic items such as hat and gloves. You will need to add your own emergency clothing.
o Communication – a range of items for keeping in touch with the authorities and others during an emergency. We also include emergency AM/FM radio frequencies for your area and information on signalling using Morse Code.
o First Aid – a few basic first aid items that a child can use.
o Food – Meals for 3 days (breakfast, lunch, dinner) plus snacks and drinks. Now sealed in vacuum-packed bags for lasting freshness!
o Lighting – two alternative light sources
o Personal Hygiene – a range of items to assist in maintaining personal hygiene
o Utensils – for your meals
o Warmth & Shelter – includes waterproof emergency blanket, sleeping mat, sleeping bag and waterproof poncho with hood
o Water – container with a strap
o Miscellaneous –a waterproof holder for coins and cash
